Welcome
The Mozambican Historical Archive (AHM) is a national archival institution created in 1934, designed to collect, treat, preserve and publicly access documents of informative and evidential value, produced and / or received by public and private institutions. Since 1976 he has been integrated in Eduardo Mondlane University (UEM).
As part of the implementation of the National System of State Archives (SNAE), Decree 36/2007, AHM participates in the definition and dissemination of government policy and advises the ministry that assumes the coordinating role of SNAE on legislative projects that directly respect to the National Archives Policy. AHM is one of the best archives in Africa, and it has in its custody about 30 thousand linear meters of textual documentation, grouped in 68 archival resources available for public consultation, and various special collections including photographs, philately, oral sources, microfilms, posters, maps and a specialized library, among others. | ![]() |
